It's not as difficult as you think. We run parallel with the A23 at Coulsdon. We stand on the opposite hill to Chipstead. You can enter Woodplace Lane from the North or South.
From the M25 take junction 8 to Merstham and follow the A23 through Hooley and into Coulsdon. Either enter Woodplace Lane from Netherne Village via Netherne Drive off the A23 at the lights after Star Lane at Hooley or from the A23 further on in Coulsdon i.e. the next turning.

Coming from Croydon/London, take the next turning on the left past Coulsdon South station which is beyond the roundabout. If you come by train or 60 bus (Arriva) or any bus going to Coulsdon from Sutton or Redhill, there is a minicab service from the station - or if you are really fit try the walk along the main road and up Woodplace Lane. Don't forget that Woodplace Lane is wierd because it turns the corner! We are at the top of the hill I'm told 500 feet above sea level. It's a beautiful spot in the summer! looking out over Farthing Downs.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
